With the rise of AI technology, government design can also be automated?

In the field of public design, the application of AI design is gradually becoming an important trend. Especially in government visual communication, policy promotion and guidance design, AI can help speed up the design process, analyze citizen behavior, and even automatically generate preliminary patterns. However, the soul of design is never just speed or efficiency, but the temperature that makes people feel “understood”. Therefore, the real value of AI design application lies not only in technology, but also in the deep integration with human-centered design.

How AI design applications are changing the government visual design process

In a traffic guidance improvement plan in Taipei, Taiwanese authorities are using AI to help redesign bus routes. AI is really good at sorting out complex information, and can produce and publish in a short period of time, adjust the scale, and analyze the visual movement, so that the first draft of the design looks neat and efficient. However, what really connects this design to people is not the calculation of the machine, but the human mind. The design team spent a lot of time observing user behavior and readjusting the color scheme to avoid the elders not being able to see clearly; Rewrite the introductory sentence so that foreign tourists can understand it at a glance; Even add vignettes that represent the local culture, making this route map not just a practical tool, but also a cityscape that will make you smile. This shift is due to the fact that someone is willing to put themselves in the user’s shoes, rather than just leaving the AI to hand over the standard answers.

AI certainly makes design more efficient, but it doesn’t see the tiny, undocumented needs of the streets. For example, a mother takes her child to catch a bus, hoping to know at a glance how long she will have to wait for the next bus. Or maybe it’s an elderly person with poor eyesight who just wants to find the most intuitive roadmap. These seemingly everyday scenes are the key to the quality of design that AI cannot feel, but deeply affects the quality of design. The role of the designer is never only to make the picture beautiful, but to make everyone visible and taken care of in the design of the city. From visual guidance to policy communication, our design team continues to focus on the practical and human aspects of design, which can be seen on our Portfolio page.
As the government increasingly introduces AI into public design, we should re-emphasize the value of “people” – because only human experience and warmth can make design truly close to people’s hearts. AI can help speed up output and provide inspiration, but the feeling that makes people willing to stop, use it with peace of mind, and even feel warm must be filled and polished by humans.
Therefore, public design is not only a demonstration of efficiency and standards, but also a language of care. When AI and designers work together and achieve each other, we can create a truly warm urban communication, make policies more sensitive, and make every design not only a transmission of information, but also a gentle response to life.

👉 IDEO’s public sector project is a fitting paragraph that mentions “human-centered” and “design communicates with government” to connect international perspectives.

AI-assisted visual design integration services

Combining artificial intelligence and design majors, it assists Taiwan authorities, brands or schools to quickly build visual prototypes, and then the design team optimizes the details to ensure that the design is not only efficient, but also warm. From information graphics and wayfinding systems to policy posters, we provide a complete one-stop integration.

Strategic planning for public visual communication

Assist the public sector and large brands to establish a clear and friendly visual communication logic, from target object analysis, visual language setting to application field design introduction, so that policies and information can be truly understood and felt, and create a public design with feeling.

Human-oriented UI/UX design consulting services

For digital products that interact with citizens (such as online bidding platforms, smart city apps, etc.), we provide user-centered interface design services, combining AI analysis and designer intuition to improve the user experience and lower the threshold.
